Our Impact on the Community
2025 by the Numbers
Dare to Love More Ministries (DLM) strengthens the Akron and surrounding communities by helping individuals and families facing hardship access food, clothing, hygiene items, and other essential resources with dignity and compassion. Through partnerships with local organizations, including Akron Public Schools’ Project RISE, DLM supports families experiencing homelessness or instability while creating a welcoming space where people feel cared for, respected, and connected to hope. Its impact extends beyond meeting immediate needs by building relationships, restoring dignity, and helping neighbors move toward greater stability.
2025 marks the first full year DLM operated as a stand-alone non-profit organization. Throughout the year, DLM continued its mission to fight hunger and nourish this community with dignity, compassion and respect. In the face of rising food costs and growing needs, DLM served as a critical lifeline for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
Through the support of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, in 2025 DLM provided nutritious food boxes to more than 3,000 households which equates to approximately 255 families each month. In total, DLM distributed more than 18,300 pounds of meat and produce in addition to non-perishable food last year. That is an increase of 10% over the previous year.
Beyond food distribution, DLM expanded its Clothing Boutique to include a teens and children’s clothing rooms and increased its spaces for women and men to include more clothing and accessories. Additionally, DLM continued to provide personal care items to families that also included diapers and wipes.
DLM’s services reached children, seniors, working families, and individuals facing temporary hardship, helping ensure that no one in this community had to choose between food and other basic needs. As demand continues to grow, this impact underscores both the urgency of our work and the effectiveness of community-driven solutions. Together, we are reducing hunger, supporting health, and building a stronger, more resilient community.
